Carey Blanton is from Lakeland, Florida. His business partner, Roi Cornish, is also from Lakeland. Both Carey and Roi have a great interest in local music and musicians. Roi and Carey have formed Best Music Venues of Lakeland, and will be coordinating the “Living by Night in the Land of Opportunity Tour: Returning to Lakeland after 30 Years on the Road in the Music Business,” a spectacular event that will take place at the Polk Theatre in late April 2008. This event will feature musicians from Lakeland that have made great strides and contributions in the music business over the years since they left Lakeland in the early 70's. The list of musicians they have played or performed with on stage is staggering. Carey is truly amazed at the amount of musical talent from Polk County Florida, which have emerged into the national spotlight though the years.
