Continued good news. Danny has seen all three of the suregonns he has had from the start and they all think he's doing great. There will probably be some surgery in the future, but right now, he's looking good.
They are discharding him from the Rehab facility because he has made such strong progress physically. He still has a lot of work ahead of him and it will depend on his own will power and desire to get even better. He will need lots of encouragement to keep pushing himself a little past the comfort level. You can all help by encouraging him and continuing to send your prayers.
Again, our whole family appreciates everything you all have done: from kind words and prayers to preparing or shipping food....you have been phenomenal! I pray that none of you has to go through anything like this in the future, but if you do, you can count us in doing our part to making it more bearable. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!! More later--Danny and Babs, Gail & Robby&Terry

You will probably hear something soon from the DanBob himself.....just be prepared for a long sitting!!!!

I can not wait to see Danny's own posting here. I know he is ready and willing. It's great news to hear of continued progress and determination by Danny. I hope all of you are able find more peace and rest. Danny....you are really someone who I admire for all you have come through. Keep up the hard work, I am yearning to see you play again..Steve

Greetings and a Big Hello to all ya'll! I was released - or LET GO - by the doctors, nurses, shrinks, etcetera, up at Brooks Rehabilitative Hospital, where I've spent the majority of my not-so-memorable month of time/surgery/therapy/etcetera, recovering what I came close to losing back on May 2nd. I also did some serious time at Shands during the front of this little ordeal, none of which I recall at all. I was pretty out of it during that part of my little journey, where they re-installed the various bits and pieces of my brain, along with stopping a major blood-clot that tried to take me away a coupla days into this whole mis-adventure. I really don't recall anything about that first coupla weeks, so I'm gathering little bits and pieces from anybody who happened to drop-in during that segment of my reconstruction project. I started coming back towards "NORMALCY" during week 3, when all sorts of stuff started moving back into my "gourd" at a faster and faster pace. I must thank all docs, nurses and "fambly" members for helping me to pull mice-elf back together. It's kinda amazing to be on the receiving-end of all sorts of little and not-so-little tricks and miracles that some very-highly educated peeps seem to be able to do these days (and mornings, evenings, and all the other not-so-identifiable frames of time) we've been dealing with. But things started moving back into my skull around week 3 and kept moving back into my skull in bigger, more important chunks with each day I was there. I was a loon during much of my stay, but things really picked-up about a week ago, so here I be - AT HOME - in St. Augustine, trying to figure out how to get my arse back into some kinda shape, so I might think about how to climb back up onto the horse that tried so hard to throw me a month-ago. Thanks to everybody for dropping me such a wonderful collection of cards and letters during the last few weeks! I just went over all the cards a little while ago and can actually tell who did the writing and sending. You peeps are GREAT! Thank you, thank you very much! I'm still recovering from the eye I'm in the process of losing, my left one, and the two broken ribs I've benn dealing with, along with all the other "bits and pices" like the skull-surgery they did such a great job of doing. My left arm is almost healed from the dings it took which have made it feel like I just woke-up a few weeks ago. But it should be fully-repaired soon, so then I get to see just how much "real stuff" I actually remember. In a way, it's like getting a fresh start, which I think I'll be able to deal with! Now I need to find-out where I can locate a blood-shot prosthetic orb and some real DARK shades to help me deal with those oh-so-bright summer days, or else I'll complete my transformation into the "night-guy" I was working on several months ago!
So, just wanted to touch basses with anyone who cared to know what old DeeArrggghhhh's been up to since my most recent "event" of the season! I thank you all for your words of inspiration, those that helped bring me outa the darkness and allowed me to find my way back to the rays of light that have helped keep me on a path that should bring me through all this craziness and hopefully towards a little stage that should stop some place close to where ya'll are! Thank you, Bless you, and I'll be in touch again real soon, OTAY? OTAY!!! Many thanks and much LOVE to my wife, Babs, who helped me through this entire restoration project with even less sleep than I got during this whole wang-dang-doodle!
Yers trooly, Danny Roberts
